India’s Nishant Dev, who was boxing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, missed out on an Olympic medal. Nishant reached the quarter-finals of the 71kg boxing competition but lost to Mexico’s second-seeded Marco Verde.
In this competition, Nishant Dev was participating in the Olympic Games for the first time. He initially attacked Marco Verde well, but in the last two rounds, Nishant fell behind due to fatigue and Verde won. Nishant was ahead after the first round, but Verde turned the match in his favor in the remaining rounds.
